There is a lot of discussion on the AVS forum about the QAM tuner in this, and most of it applies to the automatic channel scan missing channels, and ways to work around that. But if you just want a VCR replacement of OTA or major network programming in SD only, it's a good choice. [ One word of warning, on my Comcast cable, the QAM tuner in this flags all of the channels that used to be "Extended Basic" as "Scrambled" and you cannot view or record them, which for me defeats the main purpose of owning it. In this case, just stop, give the $20 to TVGuide, and take the few hours you've saved that are worth much more and do something else.There is one hard drive/DVD recorder with a QAM/ATSC/NTSC tuner but it doesn't record HD, it's SD only.
